Iris Peters

Mrs. Iris E. Peters, 90, Crawfordsville, passed away on Friday, February 6th, at 7:50 AM in the Ben Hur Nursing Home. She was born December 24th, 1924, in Punta Gorda, Florida, to John and Minnie (Lewis) Nipper. She married Eugene Peters on August 6th, 1947, in Punta Gorda. He preceded her in death on October 23rd, 2007.

Mrs. Peters was a Homemaker; was a graduate of Charlotte High School in Florida; was a member of the Grace Family Church of God, Crawfordsville; and loved tending to her plants and flowers.

She is survived by her children: Donald Peters, John Peters, Bill Peters, James Peters, all of Crawfordsville; David (Amy) Peters, Ruskin, Florida; and Marian (Roger) Johnson, Crawfordsville. Also surviving is her sister: Lorraine Goodwine, Punta Gorda; grandchildren: Kristy McCabe; Travis, Allison, Shannon, Mark and Susan Peters; Sherri Swank; Kelsie Dickerson; Samantha Steele; and several great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by brothers: Darrel and Robert Nipper; sister: Lillie Powell; and her parents.

Cremation was selected with Memorial Services being held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 14th, in the Grace Family Church of God, 901 S. Grace Ave., Crawfordsville, with Pastor Tony Raley officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 PM until the service time. Final disposition will take place at a later date in the Indian Creek Hill Cemetery, New Market. Per Iris' wishes, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Grace Family Church of God.
