Mr. Jack Wesley Walker, age 86, of Greencastle passed away at St. Vincent Seton specialty Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. on Wednesday April 15, 2015.
Jack was born on March 31, 1929 at Crawfordsville, IN. the son of Jack Ernest and Edith Marie Pierce Walker. He grew up in the Waynetown area and graduated from Waynetown High School in 1947 before serving in the US army in Korea. Jack married Penelope J. Roach on August 13, 1959 and they later divorced and remained good friends through out his life. They formerly lived in the Hillsboro area for many years. Jack worked as a sales representative for Blitz Builders a builder of farm buildings. Jack was known for his passion for the Chicago Cubs, IU basketball and he enjoyed hunting, gardening and doting on his great grandkids.
Jack is survived by his son, Kyle Walker (wife-Laurie) of Greencastle, IN., his daughter Kittina Jones (husband-Carl) of Attica, IN., his former wife Penelope Walker of Covington, IN., 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Shoemaker Funeral Home, 202 Bratton Rd. Waynetown, IN. at 2:00 p.m. Monday April 20, 2015 with the Rev. Bill Nickle officiating. Burial will follow in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the service on Monday.
