James Franklin Burch

James Franklin Burch, age 76 of Crawfordsville, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Franciscan Health Lafayette. He was born in Indianapolis on January 7, 1947 to the late Guy Leslie and Mildred Irene (Hash) Burch.

James attended Granville Wells Schools. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from January 12, 1967 until October 1, 1970. He married Jill Ellen Clampitt on October 11, 1999. He enjoyed golfing and bowling, Indy Cars, and IU Basketball. James was a jokester, always trying to be funny when telling stories.

James is survived by his wife of 24 years; two sons, John Burch and Jamie (Kim) Burch; three stepchildren, Emily Avila, Derek Keller, and Kayla (Paul) Keller; two grandchildren, Jayden and Ava; and his beloved cat, Sammy.

James was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 South Washington Street in Crawfordsville on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 1:00 pm until the time of funeral service at 2:00pm with Military Honors by the United States Navy and Post 72 Honor Guard.
