James Allan (Jimbo) Flowers, age 79, of Kingman, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 5:50am on Friday, February 28, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. James was born in Springer OK on June 9, 1934 to the late Ruben and Birtha (Jones) Flowers. He married Tina (Vance) Flowers on June 3, 1989 in Brownsburg, IN. He graduated from Deer Valley School in Arizona and the Painters Union School.
James was a self-employed painter and retired from painting after 50 years. In years past he was also a farmer, truck driver, and pastor. He attended the Waterman Baptist Church, loved his God and Family, enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, Westerns, dominos, gospel music, and was a great storyteller.
He is survived by his wife, Tina of Kingman; sons, Jim (Vicki) Flowers of Brownsburg, Dave (Abbie) Flowers of Indianapolis, and Mike (Glenda) Lee of Trafalger; daughters, Lucy (Bill) Kelly of Brownsburg, Jeannie (Barry) Roach of Brownsburg, Becky (Wayne) Jones of Indianapolis, Mandy and Missy Flowers both of Kingman, Lisa (Dave) Ohrt of Iowa, and Tina Daily of Crawfordsville; sister, Modell Gibson of Arkansas; 30 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and his dog Leo.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Norma Jean; two brothers, Bill and Ruben; two grandchildren, David Flowers Jr. and Hanna Flowers; and his dog, Snoopy.
Family will receive friends from 5-8 pm, Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street in Kingman. Funeral services will be at 12pm on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the funeral home with Pastor William Lehman officiating. Burial will follow at Kingman Fraternal Cemetery.
