James "Jim" Harwood, age 86, of Kingman passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital in Williamsport. He was born in Charleston, IL on February 14, 1930 to the late Tom and Elsie (Guymon) Harwood.
On March 28, 1959 he married the love of his life, Marilyn (Barker) Harwood in Cates. Jim proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a retired farmer who loved fishing, working in his wood shop, coloring in his coloring books, was an avid IU basketball fan and loved bowling. He bowled for over 56 years and was inducted into the United States Bowling Congress Hall of Fame. He was a member of the Kingman American Legion and Covington VFW.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn of Kingman and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles; and a sister, Joan.
Visitation will be from 11am - 1pm on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, Kingman with the funeral following at 1pm with Joe Buker officiating. Burial will follow at Centennial Cemetery. Share memories and condolences online at www.sandersfuneralcare.com
