James Gerald McCutchan

Mr. James Gerald McCutchan, 98, Crawfordsville, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, September 21st, at 7:50 AM. He was born November 6th, 1917, in Parke County, to John Henry and Edith (Pulliam) McCutchan. He married Elizabeth Jane Hazlett on December 14th, 1946, in Evansville. She preceded him in death on April 13th, 2009.

Jim was a Farmer, having farmed in Putnam and Montgomery Counties. He was a 1937 graduate of Greene Township High School; was a member of the Mace United Methodist Church; was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran; and was a member of the New Ross American Legion.

He is survived by his sons: Garry (Mary) McCutchan, Crawfordsville; and Wayne (Sue) McCutchan, Ladoga. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters; 5 brothers; and his granddaughter: Stacy Lynn McCutchan in 1998.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 AM Monday, September 26th, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Whitacre officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill South Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, September 25th, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
