James E. Petrey

James E. Petrey, age 80 of Crawfordsville, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the Lane House. He was born in Lincoln County, Kentucky on August 27, 1940 to the late Elmer & Eldora (Oaks) Petrey.

James proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and retired from Raybestos in 2004 after working 32 years. He enjoyed watching sports, TV news, horse races and reading the newspaper.

He is survived by a son, Mark Petrey of Crawfordsville; two grandchildren, Valerie Petrey of Illinois and Jacob D. Petrey of Crawfordsville; three sisters, Helen Barnett, Patsy Playforth, and Brenda Todd; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Ronnie and Hobert Estep.
