James Terrance Tarrant, age 84, of Hillsboro, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at The Waters of Covington. He was born on April 19, 1936 in Clairton, PA to the late William and Marie (Gorman) Tarrant. James married Sandra Clodfelder on October 5, 1963 in Merrillville, Indiana
James graduated from Clairton High School in Pennsylvania and attended college in California. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was a plank owner on the USS Hammerberg. Through the years he and Sandy managed several hotels and restaurants throughout the United States, he worked at Mid-West Steel in Portage, Indiana, and worked for AAFES (Army & Air Force Exchange Service). He enjoyed watching sports and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sandra Tarrant; a son, Colin (Mickalena) Tarrant; two grandchildren, Frankie and Maddie; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Megan Tarrant; a son, Michael Tarrant; two brothers, Jack Tarrant and William Tarrant; four sisters, LaVern Adams, Gloria Tressler, Audrey Fike, and Patricia Angotti.
Cremation was chosen with a Graveside Service at 2:00pm on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Phanuel Lutheran Cemetery on E Lutheran Road outside of Wallace with Pastor Kelly Nelson officiating. Sanders Funeral Care entrusted with care. Share memories and condolences online at www.sandersfuneralcare.com
