James Ernest Yeary, age 74 of Alamo, passed away March 5, 2021 peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with cancer.
James was born on November 7, 1946 in Kentucky, son of Floyd & Geneva (Hendricks) Yeary. James was a 1965 graduate of Turkey Run High School. He was a Vietnam Veteran and served from 1965-1971 in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sargent.
James retired from Raybestos in Crawfordsville and after retirement he enjoyed gardening and wood working. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching sci-fi movies and spending time with his cat, Tabby.
James is survived by his daughters, April Yeary (Chris Hayes) and Amy Cummins; six grandchildren, Travis Yeary, Sierra Cummins, Robert (Kayla) Yeary, Rebekah Hayes, Destiny (Anthony) Richie and Christopher Hayes; five great grandchildren; a sister, Tina (Benny) Menchaca; and close friends he thought of as family, Angie (Greg) Burge, Samuel Burge, Meagan (Darrel) Newkirk, Michael Wurtsbaugh, and Brigida Garcia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lena (Michael) Payne; and an infant brother, Bobby Dale Yeary.
The family chose cremation with a Celebration of Life Gathering on Friday, March 12, 2021 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at the Alamo Fire Department. Friends and family are welcome to attend.
