James “Jim” Eli Brown, age 82 of Crawfordsville passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East. He was born in Kentucky on December 1, 1936 to the late Nun “Pop” Brown and Anna (Hammond) Gross.
He graduated from George Washington High School in Indianapolis and proudly served his country in the United States Army then reenlisted in the Air Force. On May 3, 1972 he married the love of his life, Rose E. Ramsey-Hall, who survives.
Jim worked in construction all his life and worked for Bontarger Construction in Hope Indiana for over 25 years, was a special deputy for the Marion County Sheriff’s Department for 14 years and worked for the Motorcycle Escort Service. He was a master woodworker and sold his crafts at festivals and craft shows all over Indiana.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Rose; a daughter, Candice (Mike) Browning; a son, Edward (Annie) Brown; several siblings; six grandchildren, Ashlee Hoeferlin, Kasandra Davis-Brown, Keygain Green, Nathan Brown, Mystine Brown, Destiny Brown; four great-grandchildren, Langley, Hadlee, Cason, and Allyn; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death in by his parents and a few siblings.
