Jamie D. "Jim" Jones, 80, Crawfordsville, passed away Wednesday, May 11, at 6:20 PM at the St. Elizabeth Franciscan Medical Center, Crawfordsville. He was born November 2, 1930 in Chalmers, Indiana, to Wayne and Josie (Wolfe) Jones. He married Judith Christy on January 13, 1956 in Lafayette, Indiana. She survives.

Mr. Jones retired in 1993 after 43 years at Alcoa in Lafayette. He last worked in the Extrusion Department. He also had a motor route for the Indianapolis Star Newspaper for 20 years. He was a graduate of Wheatfield, Indiana, High School; Korean War Army veteran; Alcoa 25 Year Club; Alcoa Retirees Club; American Legion Post 72, Crawfordsville; and the First Christian Church, Crawfordsville. He was a Nascar, IU, and Colts fan, and enjoyed his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children: Tony (Jeanne) Jones; Todd (Lynda) Jones; Rhett (Bonnie) Jones; Angie (Jim) Miller, all of Crawfordsville; and Terry (Jane) Jones, Lafayette. He is also survived by a brother; Neal (Jane) Jones, New Hampshire; 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother,Mary Jones; and brother, Dickie Jones.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 14, at 11:00 AM, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, with Rev. Gary Lewis officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Hill North Cemetery, Crawfordsville. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion and VFW Posts of Crawfordsville. Memorials may be sent to the American Lung Association, 115 W.
