Jane (Gunnison) Beaman, age 92, of Covington passed away at 11:55pm on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville, IL. She was born in Brazil, IN on January 9, 1923 to the late Paul N and Gertrude May (Turner) Gunnison.
She graduated from Brazil High School in 1940 and graduated from Indiana State Teachers College with a degree in Music. On August 5, 1943 she married Earl Loy Beaman, who preceded her in death on March 5, 1984.
She taught in a school in Cory Indiana for several years, and then worked at Merle Sears Paper Box Company in Danville IL for 8 years. She took some time off and became a stay at home mom then returned to work and retired from Colonial Brick in Cayuga in 1997 as their payroll clerk. She was member of the Covington First Church of Christ and loved organizing bible study. She enjoyed reading, her cats, doing plastic needle point, studying family genealogy, and was an awesome oil painter in her earlier years. She was always quiet and such a sweet lady.
She is survived by a son, David E Beaman (wife-Gail Linkins) of Alabama; a daughter, Deborah (husband-Steve) Newnum of Tangier; 9 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; a cousin, Shirley Adams, and her 2 cats, Sassy and D.J.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl, and son, Paul.
Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, Kingman. Funeral will be at 10am on Monday April 13, 2015 at the funeral home with Eddy Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery in Brazil. Sanders Funeral Care entrusted with care.
