Janet Kay Hoskins

Janet Kay Hoskins, 66, of Loudon, Tennessee, formerly of Howell, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017, peacefully with family beside her after a yearlong battle with cancer.

She was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana on July 6, 1950, the daughter of Cyril T. and Virginia F. (Huxhold) Mahaska. She married Rex A. Hoskins in Crawfordville on August 22, 1970 and he survives.

Janet graduated from Crawfordsville High School. She was office manager for two Chiropractric clinics for many years and enjoyed bookkeeping for various businesses as well. She loved being outdoors, playing golf, being part of classic car tours and traveling. Janet's love was being with family and friends. She loved walking her dog, Maddy. Close friends will always remember her for her love of life and her laughter.

She is survived by her husband, Rex, two sisters, Deloris (Don) Cotten of Crawfordsville, Pamula Dickerson of Dayton and one brother James Mahaska of Lafayette, Indiana. She also has many loving nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Cyril Mahaska, of Lewisville, Colorado and Charles Mahaska of Crawfordsville, Indiana.

A "Celebration of Life" in honor of Janet Kay Hoskins will be held, 4-8 p.m. Thursday, May 4. 2017 with a memorial at 7 p.m. conducted by Pastor Art Thomas at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville. Online condolences may be sent to: powerspriebefh.com.
