Janet Lee McKinney

Mrs Janet Lee McKinney, 70, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, January 27th, 2018. She spent her last days at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis, surrounded by her family. She was born June 6th, 1947, in Crawfordsville, to Donald W. and Myrtle A. (Minnich) Myers. She married Bennie D. McKinney on August 19th, 1967, in Crawfordsville. They celebrated 50 years of marriage. He survives.

Janet was a stay-at-home Mom until her children's teenage years. She retired after 25 years from theMontgomery County Courthouse Auditor's and Clerk's Offices.She was a 1965 graduate of New Ross High School. She had a smile for everyone she met and lovedunconditionally. She was a true reflection of herSaviour.

Inaddition to her husband, she is survived by herdaughter: Dana (Jerry) Hess,ofCrawfordsville; and her son: Roger McKinney, of Crawfordsville. Also surviving is her twin brother: Laren Myers, Crawfordsville; her sister: Nancy Griggs, Crawfordsville; grandsons: Payton (Lyndsey) Miller, Maryland; Devin Miller, Florida; and Jordan Hess, Crawfordsville. She was preceded in death by her twin daughters: Melissa and Melinda McKinney in 1968; and her parents.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Thursday, February 1st, at the New Hope Christian Church, 2746 US 231 South, Crawfordsville, with Steven Covington and Dennis McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in the Mace Community Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday, January 31st, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Powers-Priebe Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.
