Jeannie D. Black

Jeannie Diane Black, age 72 of Darlington, passed away at Franciscan Health Lafayette East on Monday, June 25, 2018. Jeannie was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana on August 23, 1945 to Olive Victoria (Kendricks) Brown. On August 7, 1961, in Crawfordsville, she married the love of her life, Norman Black, who preceded her in death on March 12, 2013.

Jeannie was a loving mother and housewife and enjoyed cooking, baking, fishing, camping, watching Days of Our Lives, and enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by a son, Jeff (Sue) Black of Darlington, grandchildren, Amanda and Paul Bryant and Jericho & Natasha Wright, both of Darlington; sister in-law, Betty (Jim) Hoffman; aunt, Della Gilliat; nieces, Brenda (Stephen) Andert, Sandie (Bill) Nona, Kristal Steen, Angie Krug, and Sabrina Chadd; and nephew, Charles Alsip, Jr.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; her mother, Olive; her son, Norman L. Black Jr; brother-in-laws, Robert and Victor Black; niece, Lisa Perkins; and nephew, Victor Black Jr.

Visitation will be held at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington Street, in Crawfordsville on Friday, June 29, 2018 from 11:00 AM till the time of the funeral service at 1:00 PM with David Deckard and Greg Maish officiating. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery in Darlington. Memorial contributions can be made to Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County, 1104 Big Four Arch Rd, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.
