Jennifer Whitlow

Jennifer Lee Newell Whitlow, age 65, of Dana, passed away at 1:59 pm on June 25, 2024 at St. Vincent Indianapolis. She was born on September 21, 1958 in Danville, Illinois to the late Wayne Lee and Freda Mae (Peterson) Newell.

Jennifer graduated from North Vermillion High School in 1977. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping, fishing, and singing karaoke. Jennifer loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed photographing wildflowers.

Jennifer will be deeply missed by her three children, Trisha Allen, Daphne (Michael) Goldsberry, and Travis Whitlow; her partner of 19 years, Donald Vandevender; two siblings, Donita Newell Ramsey and Ernest Wayne Newell; five grandchildren, Mikayla (Tyler) Hay, Leah (Jakob) Hay, Lane Hay, Maelee Allen, and Blade Whitlow; and a great-grandson, Kai Price.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Sebastian Whitlow; and a sister, Brenda Newell Norman.

A graveside service will be held for Jennifer at Thomas Cemetery outside of Newport on Monday, July 1, 2024 at 1:00 pm. Her family will be hosting a Celebration of Life dinner following the service at the Cayuga American Legion at 3:00 pm. All who knew and loved Jennifer are welcome to attend.
