Jerry Hugh Hodge Jr., age 74 of Kingman, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute. He was born in Clinton, Indiana on July 6, 1949 to Jerry Hugh Hodge Sr. and Phyllis (McIntyre) Hodge.
Jerry graduated from Rosedale High School in 1968 and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. On May 27, 1972 he married the love of his life, Beth Bush, who survives. Throughout the years he worked at Olin's/Flexel in Covington for 16 years and worked with his wife in the Signs & Murals business. He was a member of the VFW and Independent Baptist Church in Montezuma and attended Prairie Creek Baptist Church in Kingman. He was a past member of the Kingman Volunteer Fire Department, was a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate), was an ordained minister and held multiple bible studies at Vermillion and Parke County Jails, Ladoga Girls Academy, and the VA in Danville. He enjoyed hunting, gold panning, fur trading, mushroom hunting, going to flea markets, made and sold grapevine wreaths, and loved going to church.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Beth Hodge of Kingman; two daughters, Dee (Darrin) Bentley of Veedersburg and Tammi "Cassie" Hodge of Arizona; six grandchildren, Lucas Bentley, Toby (Audrey) Keller, Bret (Daylynn) Thomas, Dallas (Allie) Thomas, Kendra Marriott, and Wayde (Aria) Bentley; eight great grandchildren, Jacoby, Elaina, Sophia, Kohen, Kyson, Lillie, Jaxon, and Lettie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Nathan Hodge, and a sister, Missy Hodge.
Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, in Kingman on Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. The funeral will be at the funeral home on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 11:00 am with Pastors Keith McIntyre and Loren Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery with military honors by the United States Marine Corp.
