Jerry Lee George I

Jerry Lee George I, age 72, of Montezuma, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 6:43am at Union Hospital in Clinton. He was born on November 13, 1941 in Attica to the late Wilbur Lee and Mary Maxine (Keeling) George.

Jerry married his best friend and love, Melissa Sue (Lang) George on December 27, 2004 in Newport. He attended Veedersburg High School and attended Spirit of Life Church in Kingman. He had many jobs throughout his life, was a jack-of-all trades, and retired from the Vermillion County Highway Department after 13 years. He loved wood working, fishing, and was an avid coon hunter.

He is survived by his previous wife, Sherry (Clark) Oakes of FL, mother of Corinna McMahan of FL, Lisa Robinson of Hillsboro, Belinda (Roger) Thomas of Veedersburg; previous wife, Diana (Chambers)Easton of Dana, mother of Tiffany (Jason) Baldwin of Thorntown and Jerry Lee George II of Hillsboro; son Matt Anders of TX, and his current wife, Melissa Sue (Lang) George of Montezuma, mother of Jeffery (Chinasa) Miller of WA; several other step children; three sisters, Joan (Cecil) Smith of Hillsboro, Doralee (Robert) Graham of Wallace, and Sandy (Bill) Munn of Crawfordsville; lots of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnnie and Roger.
