Jerry Gene Price

Mr. Jerry Gene Price, 85, Crawfordsville, formerly of Waynetwon, passed away Saturday, February 18th, at 7:30 AM in the Ben Her Health & Rehabilitation Facility He was born January 12th, 1932, in Tangier, to John William and Sophie Mae (Manning) Price. He married Hazel L. Fields in Waynetown, on June 9th, 1956. She preceded him in death on May 16th, 2006.

Jerry Retired after 43 years with Alcoa of Lafayette and also worked part-time for the Waynetown Tru-Lay Block Company from 1963 until 1977. His memberships included the Waynetown Baptist Church; The Genealogy Clubs of Montgomery and Fountain Counties; the Illiana Antique Tractor Club; the Waynetown American Legion; and he was a Korean War U.S. Navy Veteran. His hobbies included collecting antique tractors and doing genealogy work. He also provided grave markers for unmarked Veteran's graves as well as his own family.

He is survived by his children: Patty (David) McCabe, Lafayette; James (Dee) Price, Kingman; Scott Price, Waynetown; and Michael G. Price, Crawfordsville. Also surviving is his brother: Tom "Peanut" Price, Charleston, Illinois; his grandchildren: Darrell Price; Fawn Price; Jasper McCabe; Jennifer Price; step grandchild: Hanna Lyon; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by 1 brother and 3 sisters.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 22nd, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Revs. Ron Raffignone and Dorman Winger officiating. Burial will follow at the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 21st, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Military Rites will be conducted by the U. S. Navy and the Crawfordsville American Legion and VFW Honor Guard.
