Joe C Smith

Joe C. Smith Jr, age 79, of Hillsboro passed away on July 20, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Veedersburg on February 16, 1937 to the late Joe Smith Sr. & Irene (Booe) Smith. On October 16, 1987 he married the love of his life, Shirley J. (Thomas) Smith in Hillsboro.

Joe retired from General Motors in Danville IL after 27 years and was a member of the Victory Fellowship Church in Hillsboro. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting, NASCAR, watching Jeff Gordon and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley J. (Thomas) Smith; one son, Scott (Christina) Edgar; four daughters, Mindy Ferguson, Wendy Mortimore, Rhonda (Tim) Stuart, and Melissa Canfield; one brother, Russell (Phyllis) Smith; one sister, Pat (Jack) Keller; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; two sisters; and three sons, Joe Jr, David, and Steve.

Visitation will be Monday, July 25, 2016 from 1-3pm at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, in Kingman with the funeral service at 3pm with Pastor Steve Crum officiating.
