Mr. John Lee "Jack" Baker, 68, Crawfordsville, passed away Thursday, February 5th, in the St. Elizabeth East Hospital. He was born April 28th, 1946, in Crawfordsville, to Lawrence and Ona (Chrisman) Baker. He married Shari D. Evans on September 4th, 2010, in Crawfordsville. She survives.
Mr. Baker worked for 20 years at Schloots Furniture Store as a delivery man; was currently working for the Crawfordsville Wastewater Plant; and had worked for R.R. Donnelleys. He attended Crawfordsville Schools; was an ASA Umpire for many years; was a former member of the Moose Lodge; was a big Green Bay Packers fan; and enjoyed bowling in his freetime.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Derrik (Melissa) Groumoutis, Crawfordsville; Jeff Bowman, Crawfordsville; Angie Bowman, Crawfordsville; and Debra Combs, Rockville. Also surviving are grandchildren: Tori Bowman; Trevor, Peyton, and Jordyn Groumoutis; and great grandchild: Alex Bowman. He was preceded in death by his son: Rick Baker; his parents; a brother: Bobby Baker; a grandchild: Cameron Groumoutis; and his grandparents.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 AM Monday, February 9th, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Rev. Keith Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill North Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, February 8th, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
