Mr. John W. Norman, age 71, of near Waynetown, passed away on Tuesday January 7th, 2014 at St. Vincent Heart Hospital in Indianapolis, In.
John was born on May 4, 1942 in Montgomery County the son of Fredrick A. and Lillie Faye Herron Norman. He attended Alamo School until he moved with his parents to Venice Florida in 1955. John graduated from Venice Florida High School in 1961. Along with working with his father and brother in the family cabinet and woodworking shop he also worked as a security guard in Venice, Florida. John later moved back to the family farm near Waynetown after his mother passed away in 2003.
John loved the land and nature. He admired an oak tree on his farm for its strength and age. He enjoyed tending his chickens and the company of his dog.
John is survived by his brother Robert and sister in law Patricia Norman of Venice Florida. Also two nephews: Daniel Norman of Venice Florida and Edward Norman of Covington, Washington.
In keeping with John's philosophy of a simpler life style cremation was chosen and there will be no public services at this time. John's ashes will be interred next to his parents at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery later this year.
