John Wayne Peters

Mr. John Wayne Peters, 65, Crawfordsville, passed away Sunday, June 11th, 2017, at 1:59 PM, in the St. Elizabeth East Hospital, Lafayette.He was born in Crawfordsville on July 18th, 1951, to Eugene and Iris E. (Nipper) Peters.

John was currently working as a Fork Lift Driver at R. R. Donnelleys. He was a 1970 graduate of North Putnam High School;a U.S. Army Veteran; and a member of the Crosspoint Fellowship of Crawfordsville.In his free time, he enjoyed watching all types of racing and going to auctions.

He is survived by his sons: Mark (Amanda) Peters, Crawfordsville; Justin Moore, Huntington, Texas; his daughters: Angela (Matt) Stone, Brownsburg; and Sherri (Dusty) Swank, Lake Station, Indiana; his brothers: Donald Peters, Ruskin, Florida; William Peters, Crawfordsville; David (Amy) Peters, Ruskin, Florida; and his sister: Marian (Roger) Johnson, Crawfordsville.Also surviving is his special friend; Christina Cook and her children of Crawfordsville; and 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James.

Cremation was chosen with a Celebration of John's Life being held on Saturday, June 17th, at 5:00 PM in the Crosspoint Fellowship Church, 1350 Ladoga Road, Crawfordsville, with Pastor Mark Snodderly officiating.The family will greet friends immediately before the service at the church on Saturday.In lieu of flowers, John asked that in his memory memorials be made to the Crosspoint Fellowship for Missions; or to the American Cancer Society, 5635 W. 96th St, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278
