Joseph Brown

Mr. Joseph Eugene Brown, 84, Crawfordsville, passed away Wednesday, October 17, at 1:20 PM in the Williamsburg Healthcare. He was born February 16, 1928, in Flint, Michigan, to John and Jessie L. (Martin) Brown. He married Beverly J. Coopman June 1, 1983. She survives in Darlington.

Mr. Brown was a carpenter and had retired from the Sarasota, Florida, Water Department. He attended Covington schools and graduated from Wallace High School; was a member of the Darlington Congregational Christian Church; was a U S Navy veteran; enjoyed working with his computer; and loved to hunt mushrooms.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son: Robert Brown, Terre Haute; step children: Steven (Cheryl) Brown, Lafayette; Richard (Melanie) Brown, Randall (Brenda) Brown, Kimberly (Jim) Fidler, Patricia (Brian) Lough, and Melanie (Tim) Bonwell, all of Darlington. Also surviving is a brother: Larry Brown, Bloomfield, Indiana, and several grand and great grand children. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Donna Brown.

Cremation was selected with a Memorial Service to be held Sunday, October 21, at 3:00 PM in the Congregational Christian Church, 402 S. Madison St., Darlington, with Rev. Seth Stultz officiating. The family will greet friends Sunday at the church from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. A family committal service will be held at a later date in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington.
