Joyce Marie (Brownfield) Fleck, age 76 of Veedersburg passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018 at St. Mary’s Healthcare in Lafayette. She was born in rural Newton County on January 1, 1942 to the late Lester James & Pearl Norma (Coley) Brownfield.
Joyce attended Newton School and on May 9, 1964, she married the love of her life, Franklin “Red” Fleck, who preceded her in death only two weeks ago on April 11, 2018. Joyce worked in the sewing factory and as a cook at the nursing home. She enjoyed going to Walmart and loved country music, windchimes, and loved spending time with her family especially her brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her two daughters, Rebecca (Michael) Wilson and Mary (David) Jinkins, both of Veedersburg; 1 brother, James Brownfield; 1 sister, Linda Zarse; 9 grandchildren, Jamee Bulington, Jodee Ortiz, Jeff Bulington, Thomas Arnholt, Dylan (Breanna) Wilson, Kristin (Joshua) Delks, Tamar, Jessica and Jeremiah Jinkins; 10 great grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Franklin “Red” Fleck; two daughters, Barbara Arnholt and Pam Bulington; 2 brothers, Richard and Kenny Brownfield; 2 sisters, Ruth Gibbs and Shirley Krout; one grandchild; and one great grandson, Samuel James Wilson.
Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, in Kingman on Monday, May 7, 2018 from 11:00am till the time of the funeral service at 1:00pm with Pastor Tom Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington. Memorial donations may be given to Sanders Funeral Care, PO Box 100, Kingman, IN 47952 to help the family cover final expenses.
