Joyce Hocking

Mrs. Joyce L. Hocking, 78, Crawfordsville, passed away June 5, at 7:07 PM in the Ben Hur Nursing Home. She was born May 10, 1935, in Green County, Wisconsin, to Oscar and Florence (Erickson) Olson. She married Raymond Junior Hocking, April 7, 1957, in Monroe, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death June 11, 2011.

Mrs. Hocking was a homemaker; a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Crawfordsville; graduated high school in Wisconsin; enjoyed gardening and her flowers, sewing, and crafts.

She is survived by her children: Jolene (Jerry) Pickett, Lake Holiday; Dawn (Bruce) Foster, Plano, Illinois; Carletta (Scott) Sorrels, Crawfordsville; Lori Hocking, Indianapolis; Rodney Hocking, Evansville; Brian (Emily) Hocking, San Bernardino, California; and Charles Hocking, Lebanon. Also surviving are brothers: Bill Olson, Minnesota; Norman Olson, Indiana; sisters: Rose (Ed) Conkright, Crawfordsville; Frances (Duane) Gantz, Minnesota; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son: Raymond O. Hocking; granddaughter: Ashley Hocking; and brother: Sherman Olson.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 19th, at 3:00 PM, at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 1414 E. Wabash, Crawfordsville, with Pastor Michael Bristol officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill North Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, June 18th, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home and 1 Hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the church
