Mrs. Juanita Ellen Shafer, age 83 of Crawfordsville, In. and formerly of Wingate, In and Rockville, In. passed away at 3:50 am Sunday August 21, 2001 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Crawfordsville, In.
Born on October 26, 1927 at Williams, Indiana she was the daughter of George Russell Henderson and Eva Wagoner Henderson Underwood. She graduated Crawfordsville High school. She first married Marvin Ralph Phillips on December 20, 1945 and he preceded her in death on January 1, 1967. She then married Clarence Shafer in 1972 and he preceded her in death in 1985. While maried to Mr. Shafer she worked as a sales clerk at the G.C. Murphy Store in Rockville, In.
She is survived by her son: Marvin and Paula Phillips of Terre Haute, In. 5 granddaughters 1 grandson and 14 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Linda Hutchison, son; Jerry Lee Phillips, 1 grandson, 1 great grandson and 1 sister: Dorothy Hankins.
She was a member of New Hope Chapel Church of Wingate, In.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday August 25th at Shoemaker Funeral Home, Waynetown, In. Officiated by Pastors Duane Mycroft and Al White. Burial will be in Memory garden Cemetery, Rockville, In. Family will receive friends on thursday from 11:00 am until the services at 1:00pm. In liue of flowers memorial donations may bemade to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma city, Ok. 73123-1718.
