Julia Chieppo - Dodson

Mrs. Julia Mae (Chieppo) Dodson, 86, Crawfordsville, passed away Friday, December 27, at 1:00 PM in the Williamsburg Healthcare, Crawfordsville. She was born June 10, 1927, in Shelbyville, Indiana, to Herman L. and Sue Anna (Anderson) Wiley. She married Dr. Anthony Louis Chieppo on March 8, 1952, in Indianapolis. He preceded her in death in 1991. She later married Emmett Dodson who also preceded her in death.

Julia worked for many years at the Miller's Shoe Store, Crawfordsville. She was a graduate of Shelbyville High School; was a Volunteer Pink Lady at St. Clare Hospital, Crawfordsville; was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority; and in her free time enjoyed knitting.

She is survived by her sons: Phillip (Melvina) Chieppo, Crawfordsville, and Louis (Lisa) Chieppo, Virginia. Also surviving is her sister: Patti Elston, Milroy, Indiana; 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents and her sister: Betty McNew.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Saturday, January 4, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Rev. David Keesee officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Crawfordsville.
