June Blackford

June (DeMoss) Blackford, age 99, of Waynetown passed away at 12:35am on May 19, 2015 at home. She was born in Danville, IL on June 16, 1915 to the late Warren and Marie (Williams) DeMoss. She graduated from Waynetown High School in 1934 and on June 19, 1937 in Waynetown she married Vivian "Waxie" Clark Blackford, who preceded her in death on August 19, 2002.

June worked many years as a sales clerk and purchasing agent for Dellakamps Department Store and worked as the clerk-treasurer for the Town of Waynetown. She was a member of the Waynetown Methodist Church and was very involved in the church. She enjoyed camping, golfing, reading, and watching Judge Judy.

She is survived by a granddaughter, Miesha (Brad) Linker of Waynetown; six great-grandchildren, Ariel, Garrett, Chelsea, MacKenzie, Vivian, and Jordon; best friend, Helen Milligan; sister-in-law, Ruth Donnelly of Bixby, OK; several nieces and nephews and her cat, Baby Kitty.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Waxie; her daughter, Annie; her aunt Nanny and uncle Moore; granddaughters, Shawna and Lori; and great-granddaughter, Desiree.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 23, 2015 from noon till time of funeral service at 2pm at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, in Kingman. Burial will follow at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
