Katherine “Kay” Elizabeth (Hahn) McGinty, age 100, of Crawfordsville passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, May 18, 2018 at Franciscan Health Crawfordsville. She was born in Lafayette, Indiana on June 10, 1917 to the late Frank & Gertrude (Lincoln) Hahn.
Kay graduated from West Point High School and married Winston Freeman, who preceded her in death; then married, Tom Lane, who preceded her in death; and then married, Mac McGinty, who also preceded her in death. Kay was a homemaker and a member of the Moose Lodge, Eagles, and American Legion Auxiliary #72. She loved playing cards and bingo.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie Kay (Bob) Cope of Crawfordsville; 3 grandchildren, Bobby (Katrina) Cope of Arkansas, Lisa Jo (Terry) Cooksey of Ladoga, and Troy (Crystal) Cope of New Market; 9 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her 3 husbands; a brother, Everett Hahn; 3 sisters, Opal Billman, Marie Pearl, and Jo Swinford; and 1 granddaughter, Cindy Rauch.
Friends may gather for a Celebration of Life at Whitesville Christian Church, 3603 S Ladoga Road, Crawfordsville on Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 1:00pm till 3:00pm. A graveside service will follow with the burial of cremains at New Richmond Cemetery with Mike Whitacre officiating. Sanders Priebe Funeral Care entrusted with care.
