Kenneth Earl Gardner

Kenneth Earl Gardner, age 91, of Columbus, Ohio and formerly of New Market, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020 at Worthington Christian Village in Columbus, OH. He was born in Indianapolis on October 3, 1928 to the late Ben Andrew & Jean G. (Landers) Gardner.

Kenneth graduated from New Market High School in 1946 and proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Air Force. On December 8, 1946 he married the love of his life, Nola Nyjo “Jo” Brown, who survives. He worked at R.R. Donnelley for 38 years as a machine operator and retired in 1985. He also owned and operated Gardner’s Flower Shop in New Market. He was a member of the Alamo Masonic Lodge 144 and the Scottish Rite. Kenneth enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling with Jo.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Nola “Jo” Gardner; daughters, Valerie (John) LaSell of Ramsey, MN and Dena (Jim) Martin of Cumming, GA; son, Ken (Sharon) Gardner of Lewis Center, OH; five grandchildren, Brandon LaSell, Justin Martin, Lauren France, Brittany Gardner and Veronica Gardner.

He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Kayla LaSell and grandson, Joshua Gardner.

Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S Washington St, in Crawfordsville on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 from 11:00am till the time of the funeral service at 1:00pm with Pastor Kurt Flora officiating. Military Honors by the United States Air Force and Legion Post 72 Honor Guard will start the service followed by a Masonic Service. Burial will follow at Oak Hill North Cemetery.
