Kenneth Scott McDonald

Kenneth "Scott" McDonald, age 65, of Crawfordsville formerly of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at his home. He was born on February 15, 1958, in Indianapolis, to the late Millard Clayton McDonald and Margie Nell (Dyer) West.

Scott attended Tech High School in Indianapolis. He proudly served in the United States Army for 20 years demonstrating unwavering dedication during his service. Scott served as a soldier during the Gulf War, facing challenges with courage and resilience.

On August 30, 2002, Scott married the love of his life. Mary Jane Burton in Sevierville, Tennessee. He proposed to Mary during a trip to Kentucky Kingdom while they were waiting in line to ride the Chang. Scott had a compassionate heart, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He loved his family fiercely.

Scott is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Allen McDonald, Dustin McDonald, and Kenneth Neal McDonald; stepdaughter, Shannon Sparks; sister, Robin Stallings; grandchildren, Jourdyn McDonald, Ryenne McDonald, Jesse Sparks, Toni Compton, Mason Sparks, Andrew Cox, Zoey McDonald, Grayson McDonald, Alexa McDonald, and Talayla Theadford; great-granddaughter, Lilly Aristizabal; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Daniel Dean Caruthers; siblings, Richard Clayton McDonald, Sharon Kay McDonald, and Daniel Eugene Caruthers; and his stepson, David Wayne Sparks.

A visitation will be held for Scott on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 from 1:00 pm until the time of Celebration of Life at 4:00 pm with Military Honors conducted by the United States National Guard and American Legion Post 72 Honor Guard.
