Kenneth Neal

Mr. Kenneth R. Neal, 61, New Market, passed away at 12:42 PM Wednesday, January 4, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Crawfordsville. He was born October 23, 1950 in Crawfordsville to William, Jr. and Betty Lou (Clements) Neal. He married Jane Ritter January 23, 1971 in Crawfordsville. She survives.

Mr. Neal was the owner of Neal Excavating for the past 28 years. Previously, he had worked for Vectren. He was a 1969 graduate of Crawfordsville High School. He was a member of the Youngs Chapel Church; a 25 year member of the Montgomery Lodge #50; sang and played the bass guitar for the "Federation of Sound", "Just for Kicks", and "Mainline" bands.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son: Kevin W. (finance' Justine Penix) Neal, West Lafayette; 2 brothers: Frank Neal, Indianapolis, and Richard (Kay) Neal, Cape Coral, Florida; a sister: Cheryl Ann (Ralph) Edwards, Darlington. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 9, at 11:00 AM at the Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville. Cremation will be conducted following the funeral services with a family committal service to be held at a later date. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, January 8, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Masonic Rites will be conducted at 8:00 PM Sunday. Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
