Mr. Kenneth James "Kenny" Thompson, 80, Crawfordsville, passed away Tuesday, April 21st, at 2:35 PM, in the Franciscan St. Elizabeth Crawfordsville Hospital. He was born May 31st, 1934, in Greenwood, Indiana, to William H. and Eunice (Logsdon) Thompson. He first married Rebecca Louise Land who preceded him in death. He later married Marjorie L. Shelton on August 1, 1996, at the Candlelight Chapel in Las Vegas. She survives.

Mr. Thompson retired in 1996 after 21 years as a Supervisor at Sommer Metalcraft. Prior to that he worked for 15 years at Litton Industries in Indianapolis. He attended Greenwood, Indana, schools; was a U.S. Army Veteran; was an avid Pacers, Colts, and NASCAR fan; enjoyed Bingo and casinos; was a proud father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and really enjoyed the family dinners where he could lead the family in prayer before the meal.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step-children: Wanda (Greg) Peacock, Linnsburg; Connie (Matt) Peterson, Crawfordsville; Steve Maxwell, Crawfordsville; Edward (Benita) Maxwell, Crawfordsville; and Phil Maxwell, Waveland. Also surviving are brothers: Chet, David, Glenn, Dan, Mark, and Jack Thompson; sisters: Norma Capps and Elizabeth Honeycutt; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife; parents; daughters: Kim Maxwell and Kathy Davidson; brothers: Robert Eugene, George, Raymond, and Erbie; sisters: Irene Johnson, Alberta Smith, Roseline Thompson, Audrey Thompson, and Martha Cox.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, April 24th, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Pastors Dan Matthews and Duane Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill North Cemetery, with Military Rites being conducted by the U. S. Army and the Crawfordsville VFW and American Legion Honor Guard. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from Noon until the service time.
