Larry A. Lough, age 59 of Darlington passed away peacefully of a heart attack at 0800 am on Saturday, August 30, 2014 while heading out to go squirrel hunting. He was born in Crawfordsville on October 14, 1954 to the late Nolan and Martha (Mahoy) Lough.
Larry graduated from North Montgomery High School in 1973 and married his high school sweet-heart, Linda (Sanders) Lough on June 1, 1973 in Darlington. Larry started his 33 year law enforcement career with the Darlington Police Department, then started with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department in 1977 and retired in 2005 as a Sargent. After retirement he worked for the Montgomery County Highway Department for 9 years. He was a member of the NRA, Indiana Sheriff's Association, Fraternal Order of Eagles, was a volunteer firefighter in Darlington and was on the Darlington Fire Board. Larry was an avid outdoorsman that loved to fish and hunt and he was a stranger to no one. He enjoyed raising rabbits, shooting at the range, watching action and war films, cruising in his ranger, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Linda of Darlington; one daughter, Michelle (Anthony) LeBlanc of Crawfordsville; two sons, Scott Lough of Crawfordsville and Jacob (Kristin) Lough of Darlington; mother-in-law, Bev Sanders of Kingman; and three grandchildren, Preston, Raeleigh, and Tristian.
Family will receive friends from 3-7pm on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the First Assembly of God, 2070 Lebanon Rd, in Crawfordsville. Funeral Service will be at 11am on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the church with Pastor Bill Parks officiating. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Darlington.
