Larry L. Thomas

Larry Leland Thomas, age 82 of Winter Haven, Florida and formerly of Crawfordsville passed away on September 24, 2018 at the Forsythe Hospice House in Auburndale, Florida.  He was born in Crawfordsville on May 27, 1936 to the late Kelsey L. & Edith (Vail) Thomas.

He graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1955 and married, Suannys June Black, who preceded him in death in 1997.  On June 16, 2000 he married Kay Nelson, who survives.  He was a graduate of the American T.V. and Electronics School.  He worked at Mid States for 11 years and retired from Crown Cork & Seal in 1997 after 31 years as an electronic technician.  He was a member of the Linden United Methodist Church, American Institute of Industrial Engineering, American Electronic Society, and he was a Kentucky Colonel.  He enjoyed camping, watching NASCAR, and was a ham radio operator.  He loved people, he didn’t know a stranger, and loved walking his dog around his neighborhood in Florida.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Thomas of Winter Haven, FL; two daughters, Lynda Gray of Rockville and Elizabeth Love of Kokomo; a sister, Margaret Magill of Mace; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Suannys; two sisters, Audrey Harker and Ann Siggins; and two brothers, Byron & Robert Thomas.

Visitation will be from 5:00pm – 7:00pm on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S Washington Street in Crawfordsville.  The funeral service will at 1:00pm on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastor Patty Bymaster officiating.  Burial will follow at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.  Sanders Priebe Funeral Care entrusted with care.  Share memories and condolences online at www.sandersfuneralcare.com
