LaVerna "Betty" R. Tucker, a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, age 103 of Crawfordsville, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Ben Hur Nursing Home while surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 30, 1922, on her family farm to Glenn and Montoma (Sink) Clough.
In 1940 Betty graduated from Alamo High School. Betty married Max W. Tucker on November 22, 1945, he preceded her in death on February 28, 2003. They were blessed with one child. Betty was an active member of the Moose Lodge and the Athens Chapter #97 Eastern Star for over 50 years. She was an avid Bingo player and loved to travel with her grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her only child, Shelia (Reid) Wilson; five grandchildren, Jimmy (Shirley) Sarver, Jason (Brandi) Wilson, Alissa (Mike) Brock, Jeremy Wilson, and Nick (Megan) Wilson; nine great grandchildren, Jessica (David) Mayes, Abigail (Noah) Moore-Benge, Sydney Newton, Mitchell (Isabel) Newton, Olivia (Jacob) Brock, Ashton Wilson, Chance Brock, Max Wilson, and Oliver Wilson; and six great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Max Tucker; and a brother, Bob Clough.
Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Care, 315 S Washington St, in Crawfordsville on Monday, April 28, 2025, from 3:00pm - 6:00pm. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 1:00pm with Pastor Kevin Howey officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Grant Cemetery.
