Mrs. Leah Mae Switzer, age 70, of Waynetown, passed away at Withem Hospital Lebanon on Wednesday evening November 30th following a short illness.

Leah was born February 1, 1946 in Montgomery County, In. the daughter of Keith and Sarah "Mae" Brown Barricklow and was raised by John and Amy Robinson after her mother passed away. Leah was a graduate of Waynetown High School and the University of Phoenix. She was a tireless worker within her community having been an EMT instructor and ambulance attendant, a 4H leader, a member of the Waynetown Merchants Association, and a volunteer with the American Legion #72. She served two 4 year terms on the Waynetown Town Board and was president on the board for 2 years. She and her husband formerly served as foster parents and Leah formerly worked in production at Raybestos Mfg. In her spare time she liked to garden, bake, knit, crochet and going dancing. She always loved animals and had her pets.

Leah is survived by her husband Terry L. Switzer of Waynetown, Father-in-law Glen A. Switzer of Indianapolis, Son: Keith (Shannon) Switzer of Waynetown, daughters: Dawn (Dave) Biggs of New Ross, and Denise (Don) Otenburg of Crawfordsville and one sister: Carol (Bob) Stoddard of Crawfordsville. She will be missed by her 6 grandchildren: Casey (Daniel) Welshimer, Erin (Paul) Turner, Jessica (Leon) Billingsley, Caitlynn Switzer, Brian and Brent Otenburg and her 8 great grandchildren: Dravyn, Jez, Graycee, Marley, Lillie, Gabriel, Allison and Gideon.

Funeral services for Leah will be held at 2:00pm Saturday December 3rd at Shoemaker Funeral Home 202 Bratton Rd. Waynetown with Rev. Kevin Howey officiating. The family will receive guest from 11:00am until the services. Cremation will follow and a private burial of the ashes will take place at a later date.
