Lenore Myers

Mrs. Lenore Violet Myers, 97, Crawfordsville, passed away Sunday, March 10, at 2:39 PM, in the Williamsburg Healthcare. She was born April 8, 1915, in Kankakee, Illinois, to Emert Edgar and Ruth Amelia (Yoder) Gilkison. She married Hugh Myers, November 28, 1936, in Joliet, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 1981.

Mrs. Myers was a homemaker; member of the Browns Valley Baptist Church; member of the Rebecca Lodge; attended Kankakee County schools; and enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting, playing cards, and dancing.

She is survived by her daughters: Eleanor (Roger) Wilcox, Browns Valley; Connie Flick (H. J. (Jr.) Crews), Crawfordsville; Barbara Lady (Clifford Eaton), Zephyr Hills, Florida; her son: Edgar Myers (LaVon LaPree), Zephyr Hills, Florida; 20 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son: Lonnie Leigh Myers; 2 brothers: John Elwood and Vernal Edgar Gilkison; and her parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 15, at 11:00 AM, at the Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Rev. Ken Green officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill North Cemetery.
