Mr. Leonard J. Largent, Sr., 83, Waynetown, passed away Wednesday, April 24, at 10:58 PM, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born July 24, 1929, in New Market, to Carl R. and Callie (Jennings) Largent. He married Lois I. Keller on March 29, 1947, in Montgomery County. She survives.

Leonard had retired from the Ministry which he entered in 1966. He had served churches in Indiana, Kentucky, Nebraska, and Illinois. He had also worked as a Bus Driver for Crawfordsville Schools and was the custodian at Willson School for many years. Prior to his Ministry, he had worked at Raybestos Products. He received a BS in Ministerial Studies from Johnson Bible College, Knoxville, Tennessee; was a member of the Woodland Heights Christian Church and attended the Sterling Christian Church. In his free time he enjoyed carpentry work and horseback riding.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Leonard J. (Judy) Largent, Jr., Rosiclare, Illinois; Karen K. Largent, Waynetown; and Kimberlin R. (Steve) Keller, Indianapolis. Also surviving is his brother: William D.(Chetra) Largent, Crawfordsville; grandchildren: Jonathan (Nancy) Largent; Katrina (Chris) McDowell; Justin Largent; Chole Keller; and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: brothers: Carl J. Largent, Jr.; Robert and Roscoe Guinn; sister: Genevieve Fruits.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Monday, April 29, at the Woodland Heights Christian Church, with Revs. Gary Johnson and Ron Batts officiating. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home on Sunday, April 28, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
