Mrs. Lois Ilene Largent, 89, rural Waynetown, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, April 18th, at 8:15 AM. She was born November 23rd, 1927, in Fountain County, to Herley and Vergie Mae (Blackford) Keller. She married Leonard J. Largent, Sr. in Montgomery County on March 29th, 1947. He preceded her in death on April 24th, 2013.
Lois had worked at R.R. Donnelleys; Raybestos Brake Products; in the lunch room at Seeger Memorial High School; but her main occupation was that of being a Baby Sitter. She was a 1945 graduate of Wingate High School, and received a "PHT" (Putting Hubby Through) Degree from Johnson Bible College, Knnoxville, Tennessee. She was a member of the Woodland Heights Christian Church and she attended the Sterling Christian Church; she had been a Home Economics Club member; and a Cub Scout Den Leader.
She is survived by her daughters: Karen K. Largent, Waynetown; Kimberlin R. (Steve) Keller, Indianapolis; and her son: Leonard J. (Judy) Largent, Jr., Rosiclare, Illinois. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Jonathan (Nancy) Largent; Katrina (Chris) McDowell; Justin Largent; Chloe Keller; great-grandchildren: Julianne Largent; Gabriel Largent; Isabel Largent; Hiro Largent; Mayson McDowell; and Hayley McDowell. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters: Eva Maxey and Hazel Redenbaugh.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Saturday, April 22nd, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Revs. Ron Batts and Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, April 21st, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
