Lois Maxine Williams

February 14, 1921 — July 11, 2016

Mrs. L. Maxine (nee: Wilson) Grenard Williams, age 95, passed away at Brook Knoll Village Nursing Home in Avon on Monday afternoon July 11, 2016. Maxine was born February 14, 1921 at Wingate, IN., the daughter of Harry and Bess (nee: Tomlison) Wilson. She graduated from Wingate High School.

Maxine married Lester Grenard on February 7, 1943 and they made their home near Mace. While raising their children Maxine worked for Lifetime Gate MFG and was a lecturer for Weight Watchers. She was a member of the Mace Methodist Church and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star. Lester preceded her in death on August 5, 1976 and she then married Wilbert Williams on September 3, 1983 and they lived in Bloomington, IN where they attended St. Paul Methodist Church. Wilbert preceded her in death on February 12, 2005.

Maxine is survived by her children: Stephen (wife Pamela) Grenard of Avon, IN,. Charles Grenard of Seattle, WA., and Judy (husband Tom) James of Clayton, IN. She is also survived by her step children Willis Williams of Oregon and Susan Horn of Bloomington, IN., 8 grand children and 3 step grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister.

Funeral services for Maxine Williams will be held at 1:00pm Friday July 15th at Shoemaker Funeral Home 202 Bratton Rd Waynetown, IN with Pastor Matt Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. The family will receive guest from 12 noon on Friday until the services. Those who wish may make memorial donations to either Mace Methodist Church, Mace, IN or St Paul Methodist Church Bloomington, IN. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
