Mabel Irene Ransom

Mabel Irene (Smith) Ransom, age 98, of Kingman passed away at 5:40pm on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at the Morgantown Health Care Inn in Morgantown, IN. She was born in Sylvania, IN on July 18, 1916 to the late Mr. Shoaf and Edith (Mitchell) Smith.

Mabel graduated from Tangier High School and on September 1, 1932 she married the late Rex Ransom, who preceded her in death in 1987. She was a bank teller at the Danville State Bank for many years, loved golf, and was a member of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Rex; her son, Marion; and a grandson Tim.
