Maddie Coles

Madison Amber Lynn “Maddie” Coles, age 24, of Lizton and formerly of Kingman passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by her loving family on Monday, September 10, 2018. She was born in Indianapolis on March 13, 1994 to Peter Scott Coles and Mary A. McDaniel.

Maddie attended Elementary School in North Salem, graduated from Fountain Central High School in 2012 and graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Outdoor Recreation & Parks and Human Ecology. She was a Girl Scout and while in high school she played varsity softball, was a cheerleader and mentor, member of the Spanish Club and Art Club and during the summers she worked at the Kingman Oasis, Wallace 341 Café, and the Turkey Run Gas & Grill. While attending IU in Bloomington she was a server at Bob Evans Restaurant in Bloomington and completed internships with the National Wild Turkey Association and the Hoosier National Forest. She was a country girl at heart that loved the outdoors, fishing, bonfires, riding 4-wheelers, and was a Cornhole Champion. With her long curly red hair that would turn heads, she had a heart of pure gold that will be missed by so many.

She is survived by her father, Peter Coles (Tammy Jackson) of Brownsburg; her mother, Mary McDaniel (Ron Nelson) of Kingman; her maternal grandparents, David & Linda McDaniel of Lizton; three sisters, Meggan, Macy, and Molly Coles; aunt, Julie McDaniel; three uncles, Robert, James, and Scott Coles; and many many friends.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, James & Pauline Coles; great grandmother, Mickey McDaniel; two uncles, Doug Coles and Tom McDaniel; and aunt, Samantha Medjeski.

Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S Washington Street, in Crawfordsville on Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 2:00pm till the time of the celebration of life service at 7:00pm with Celebrant Amanda Atkins officiating. Cremation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Maddie’s memory to the Hoosier National Forest. Please mail all memorial donations to the funeral home.
