Madonna Marilyn (Basham) Gentry died unexpectedly and returned to her heavenly home on December 24, 2015.

She was born on April 19, 1940 in Danville, IN to Clifford and Sophie (White) Basham of North Salem, IN. She graduated from North Salem High School in 1958 where she cheered the Blue Devils to victory.

Madonna married Larry Dean Gentry on February 15, 1959 at New Market Christian Church by Rev. Calvin Miller. She became a member of the church August 27, 1961 and had been attending Woodland Christian Church in Crawfordsville.

She was a wonderful mother to Charlesa Kay Olson of Kilgore, TX and Kimberly Lynn Goodman (Greg) of Duluth, GA. She was a fabulous grandmother to Jedidiah Dean Feaster of Lafayette, IN, Rilee Lynn Fletcher (Jeff) of Gladewater, TX, and Tyler Vaughn Goodman of Anderson, SC. Her most excitement came from her two great-grandsons, Grayson Wayne and Cayden Dean Fletcher.

Madonna retired after 38 1/2 years from Southmont High School where she served and loved all the students through her love of cooking. She worked 3 years at the Bonnie Plant in New Market and 13 years at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. She was a former member of the Double Dozen Sorority. She loved to play Euchre with friends and family. She taught 3 year old Sunday school for many years.

Surviving with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren are her brother Leonard Basham (Dotty) of North Salem and sister Deloris Hays (Joe) of Crawfordsville.

She was proceeded in death by her parents and siblings Lonard Basham, Juanita Rhyne, Doris Basham, and Landon Basham.

Friends may call on the family on Tuesday December 29 from 4-8 pm at Woodland Heights Christian Church, 468 North Woodland Heights Drive, Crawfordsville. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 am on Wednesday December 30 at Woodland Heights with Rev. Steve Wilke and Rev. Tony Thomas officiating. She will be laid to rest at Indian Creek Cemetery in New Market.
