Madonna Kathryn Jones

Mrs. Madonna Kathryn Jones, 93, Lebanon, formerly of Crawfordsville, passed away Tuesday, June 28th, at 9:37 AM in Witham Hospital, Lebanon. She was born in Montgomery County to Thomas J. and Gula N. (Parrett) Orrick. She married Edgar D. Jones on March 26th, 1948. He preceded her in death in January of 1983.

Mrs. Jones retired in 1985 after 18 years with Montgomery Ward. She also had worked at R.R. Donnelleys. She was a 1940 graduate of Waynetown High School and attended Central Normal College in Danville, Indiana. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crawfordsville and its Keenagers Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Montgomery County Historical Society and the Harmony 18 Home Economics Club. In her free time she enjoyed cooking.

She is survived by her son: Carl Thomas Jones, Lebanon; her daughter: Carolyn (Ross) Powell, Columbia, Tennessee; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son: Carroll David; her parents; and her sister: Margaret Crutchfield Hammond.

A Memorial Service following cremation will be held at Noon on Saturday, July 9th, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the service time. Memorials may be made to: Samaritan's Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607
