Mrs. Margaret E. Booher, 97, Columbia, Tennessee, formerly of New Market, passed away in her home at 3:30 AM on Monday, September 16. She was born June 10, 1916, in Montgomery County to Scott and Blanche (Olin) Cowan. She first married Gerald S. Campbell on October 10, 1937 in Montgomery County and he preceded her in death in 1947. She then married Norman A. Booher, February 19, 1953, in Montgomery County, and he also preceded her in death in 1990.

Mrs. Booher was a homemaker and was the head of the cafeteria for the New Market Elementary School. She attended Breaks Elementary School and was a 1933 graduate of New Richmond High School. She was a member of the New Market Christian Church; Night Owls Club at church; New Market Women's Club; 50 + Club; did volunteer work for the Lane House and the Ladoga Nursing Homes. Her life centered around helping others.

She is survived by her children: G. Edward (Connie) Campbell, Brookville, Indiana; Bonnie (Tim) VanHook, Columbia, Tennessee; and Connie (Rick) Sells, Roanoke, Virginia. Also surviving is her sister: Rebecca Harris, St. Cloud, Florida; and several grand and great grandchildren. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sons: John L. Campbell in 1963, and Larry Campbell in 2001; and brothers: Marion and Byron Cowan.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:30 AM Friday, September 20, at the New Market Christian Church, 302 S. Third St., with Rev. Ryan Gordner officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Elmdale. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until service time.
