Margaret Clampitt

Miss Margaret Diane Clampitt, 65, Crawfordsville, passed away Saturday, August 20, at 5:45 AM at I. U. Arnett Health Hospital, Lafayette. She was born February 9, 1946 in Montgomery County to Nelson and Dorothy (Caldwell) Clampitt.

Miss Clampitt was an In Home Healthcare Provider and had also worked in nursing homes. She was a 1965 graduate of New Market High School and received an Associate Degree in Business from IVY Tech. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Crawfordsville, where she was a deacon. She enjoyed needlework, crocheting, her nieces and nephews and her cats.

She is survived by her sister: Jill (James) Burch, Crawfordsville, and her brother: Stanley Clampitt, Hardeeville, South Carolina. Also surviving are 3 nieces, 3 nephews, 4 great nephews, and 2 great nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Tim Clampitt.

Cremation was selected with a Memorial Service to be held on Tuesday, August 23, at 2:00 PM at the First Christian Church, 211 S. Walnut, Crawfordsville with Rev. Keith Strain officiating. The family will greet friends Tuesday at the church from Noon until 2:00 PM. There will be a family committal service at the Greenlawn Cemetery at a later date.
