Mrs. Margaret A. Cox, 88, Crawfordsville, passed away Monday, May 13, at 4:00 AM, in the Lane House Nursing Home. She was born January 21, 1925, in Terre Haute, to Fred and Viola (Pound) Armstrong. She married Glenn Cox, August 3, 1946, in Terre Haute. He preceded her in death in 2005.
Mrs. Cox was a retired Registered Nurse, having worked at Culver Hospital; for RR Donnelleys; and doing Private Duty Nursing. She was a graduate of Honey Creek High School and the Union Hospital School of Nursing, both in Terre Haute. She was a volunteer and Board Member for the Christian Nursing Service for 27 years; served on the Montgomery County Council on Aging; member of the Indiana State Nurses Association; was a Charter Member of the Sugar Creek Quilters; and enjoyed playing Bridge.
She is survived by her son: James (Barbara) Cox, Midland, Texas; brother: Wilton Armstrong, Terre Haute; grandsons: Jimmy Cox, Conroe, Texas; Jordan Cox and Zane Cox, both of Midland, Texas. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and sister: Virginia Acree.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 18, at 10:30 AM, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Rev. Alan Goff officiating. Burial will be in the Rosedale, Indiana, Cemetery.
