Marjorie Linville entered into eternal peace and rest at Wellbrook of Crawfordsville, IN. on December 31, 2017 the result of complications of old age.
Marjorie LaVera Riester was born to Homer Glenn and Hazel Louise Rice Riester January 17, 1920 north east of Mellott, IN. A life resident of Mellott she graduated from Mellott High School, attended one semester at IU and graduated from Indiana Business College at Lafayette, IN. She formerly was employed as a bookkeeper with the Knowles Grain Co., Electrolux and Purdue University in the accounting dept.
She was united in marriage to Lowell N. Linville on May 27, 1941 at the United Church of Christ of Mellott, IN. and he preceded her in death on December 14, 1996. Marjorie was a 75 year member of the United Church of Christ at Mellott where she taught Sunday School, VBS and was the church organist for 56 years. She was also a member of the Women's Guild, and an honorary member with voice and vote in the Western Association of the Indiana Kentucky Conference of the United Church of Christ. She provided music for weddings, funerals and at nursing homes for entertainment. Marjorie enjoyed geneology and was a member of the Fountain County Geneology Society and was an active alumnus of Richland Township Schools, helping to organize and conduct the bi-annual reunion.
Marjorie will be greatly missed by numerous cousins and a host of special friends. Per Marjorie's request, her body was donated to the IU Anatomical Education Program. A private memorial service will be held. Inurnment will be conducted at a later date at Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro, IN.
